Default [Fixed] - Mail Server has stopped working

Can anyone suggest a course of action for the following Email problem.
We run our Email through a server called VPOP. Recently we installed an upgraded version of Norton Antivirus onto the network server on which VPOP runs. There was a conflict between the two which prevented our emails downloading to VPOP, but we think we managed to solve this by turning off Nortons Incoming Mail scan option (as suggested in the manual). This worked for a time. At the same time, Norton keeps telling us it has detetected w32.netsky.p@mm!enc. We scanned the machine, quarantined the virus and then ran the fix from Symantic. This then said the machine was clear. However, it keeps re-appearing on the machine within the VPOP3 folder no matter how many times we get rid of it - we've even removed it manually. At the same time, we are currently unable to download our mail to our VPOP server, although we can send mail out we can't receive anything. We are unsure what we can do to prevent the virus returning and to get our incoming email working (we've also checked if the problem is with our ISP but its not.

We'd really appreciate some advice

For now, why not try dis-abling norton and running something *like* AVG: www.grisoft.com - just as a "second opinion" on that virus. As you said, there was a conflict between VPOP & Norton when you installed it...maybe the problem is spreading further than first thought.

Anyway, for now try another anti-virus package make sure it is active and then dis-able Norton - try running VPOP without Norton.
