Default [Answered] Blocked Sender List options

I use the block sender option to block spam but I then have to go in and edit (one by one) to block certain whole domains.

Is there a way to edit this file with say notepad ?
Can I import/export it to another machine to block the same spam sites from all my pc's ?
I tried looking for the file but no luck.

Any ideas anyone ?

I personally wouldn't bother blocking senders and domains...the spammers are constantly changing their addresses and you may end up blocking a domain that you don't want to..

I would concentrate on creating an effective Spam filter within OE. I have found a great "walkthrough" for you http://www.tiscali.co.uk/help/email/oe_filter.html.

Failing that, there are some great bits of software out there...some of which are shareware and even freeware.

Lastly - when I was receiving tons and tons of spam on my main account, I changed the name and NEVER gave it out publically. Then I created an account - spam@pchelpforum.com I use this account to sign up for everything.

Thanks for the reply.
I already do the message rule stuff as described here>> http://www.tiscali.co.uk/help/email/oe_filter.html

I also have a number of email accounts I use only for signing up.
I cannot change the names of a few accounts as they are used for our company. These are actually from 3 different email providors.
I am quite happy to block whole domains as some are quite obviously used for spamming. But that does not stop the mail - it simply puts it into the detele box.
Ideally, I want to block names and/or domains at the mail server rather than each machine.
I am currently investigating the benefits of SPF.

I was just trying to think how you had posted as guest Fakeplastic....

...then I realised that when I set up this new main topic, I didn't set permissions

I have heard of the SPF project before - please let us know how you get on with it if you do decide to trial it..

@Fakeplastic

Do you think it would be worth investing in some "proper" anti-spam software, that way you will get some sort of "guarantee" from the creator of the software :
