ok i am trying to email a video i took from my sony handycam and when i import it (even on low quality) it's like 46 mb. So i tried zipping it and got down to 35 mb.there has got to be a way to get down to around 2 mb. the kicker is it is only 1min 12 sec! whats the secret? Thanks!

The easiest fix for this-- is to use an online hosting service-- upload the full files-- send the recipient the address to download them from...
many of them are free...

thanks for the reply Yeah i have used photobucket for this for a while. I was just seeing if i could condense it so i could email it just to learn how. seems like there has got to be a way. i mean people send me videos all the time so there has to be a way to do it.

Mail servers don't tend to take files this large very well, and many mailboxes are not even big enough to support such files.

Reducing a 46mb video to 2mb is possible, but there are many things to consider. If the video is already compressed, using compression methods such as DivX, Indeo, Cinepak, MPEG4, XVid for example, then to compress it any further would result in significant loss of audio and video quality.

If the video is already on-line, for example, a youTube video, then it's much easier just to send the link to that file.

There are other methods of transferring files directly, other than e-mail. You can send files on Skype or create sharing folders on MSN. It doesn't have to be e-mail.

Yeah.... but those are probably "flash" videos... or some such low res type....
