Question Digital Camera trouble...Help!

I had my Canon Powershot S500 camera for a while now and I had no problems with it until now. After charging my battery, I put the battery in the camera and notice on my viewing screen a thick purple line (less than half the screen) but when I hold the button half way down, the purple lines seems to disappear. Then I switch to view my picture and there is a faint purple line right on top of the picture in the viewing screen that is barely noticable. Can anyone provide me with some insight? Help! Thank you.

Hi welcome to PCHF when the purple line disappears can you see the full image on the screen? If you can it sounds like a electronic contacting issue.

Unhappy Re: Digital Camera trouble...Help!

The purple completely disappear when I hold the botton half ways down to take a picture and yes, I can see the full image on screen.

Unfortunely, I have more lines now.

Has your camera recently been subjected to cold, heat (left in a hot car), moisture, or perhaps dropped? It does sound like an electrical contact issue.
