Hi Guys,

Hope everyone is well. A colleague at work has a problem.

She has a 1gb Memory Stick that has 750mb of space left on it. She took some photos on a digital camera and is trying to copy them to the memory stick, but the following error appears..........

"Error Copying File. Cannot Copy File. Directory or File cannot be created".

These are normal jpegs, i've clicked on 'properties' and all seems to be normal.

We've copied other stuff to the memory stick and its working fine - so i dont think the stick is the problem - its something to do with the jpeg files.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Create a new folder on the thumb drive and try putting the pics in there.

I'm assuming the thumb drive is formatted in the FAT format, sometimes the *root* directory overfills and gives that error, creating a subfolder in it and putting your pics there should circumvent that, you can also try putting the other files on the stick in different folders as well

What you can also do is copy everything off the drive to your computer, and re-format the thumb drive in FAT32, and it *should* fix the problem in the event creating a folder doesn't

Just tried it - placing files into folder first solved the problem.
