Hey Tanner,

If you right click on that device, and go to Properties. What do you see for "Device Status"?

I dont know how it works with USB, as mine uses Firewire, but i can easily rip using Windows Movie maker. Try using that. You will have to use a program to copy from a miniDV camera.

Sharp has a bit of a proprietary bent Terdogtanner. Try the link below...

thanks for all the support fellas
but ive tried the sharp link a long time ago and the application for the driver never opens when i download it to the desktop for install

the only thing left to try is the rip process suggested by AW_3_3 but i will need to know how to do this
or the process of how this actually supposed to work

The EXE file you got from Sharp is a simple self extracting zip file Terdogtanner. It will write two files somewhere on your PC. The two files are SHDU_B.INF and USB_Help.pdf. The .INF file tells the computer how to work with your DigiCam. Just follow the instructions in the PDF file. Looking at the INF file, Sharp uses Windows generic drivers. You just need the INF file to make it all come together.

yeah i know man
but it doesnt even detect the usb when i plug it in
PLUS, looking at the pdf...it doesnt even have instructions with xp home...it just shows how to set up for win98/98SE and Win2000

soooo what next?
its like i said before..when i go into DEVICE MANAGER, i plug in the usb connection and then all of a sudden "other devices" appear in the Device manager window along with a yellow question mark. and then under that sub category follows USB DEVICE with a question mark and exclamation...so obviously its not there....

WHAT>.....do i do?
