Hello Zaoneady, Welcome back to the forum!

As far as I am aware, the 4870 is better than the 4850. As far as the 9800gx is concerned though I don't know.

I have marked this as open to encourage the hardware guru's here to come and take a look

Regards,

Smokeycheech

You seem to be a bit misinformed. Between the 4870 and 4850, the 4870 is better.

But for the other card, the one you've listed as "9800gx", could you re-check what card it is because I don't think that's a graphics card.

I think you could be talking about either a 9800GX2, a 9800GTX+, a 9800GTX, or a 9800GT.

Another card that should be around that price range is the GTX 260 Core 216, which is a little better than the 4870, so if you can find that for not too much more, id op for that card instead.

Hi Zaineady!

People are still paying for DDR3 memory at a premium... if your budget is 500 Euros I would recommend going to a DDR2 system for now - the higher end quad core CPU's can handle applications just fine. Also, do you need a new harddrive, PSU or sound card?

Thanks for your patience,
Andrew
