Default Need help with a few things; first time build

Here's what I've got so far:
EVGA tri-SLI motherboard - I chose this because it's SLI capable in case I go that route in the future, it seems to have a nice range of expansion slots and ports, and it's said to be decent for overclocking in case I ever decide to try that.

Core i7 920 processor

Nvidia GeForce GTX 295

Corsair (2 x 2 GB) RAM
- I don't need more than four gigs because I'll be using Windows XP.

I'll be using this system exclusively for gaming (online and offline) and browsing the Internet. I'm looking at a budget of 1,500-2,000 dollars. I might be able to push it towards 2,000.

Help on what I should do for the cooling system is greatly appreciated, as well as a good hard drive setup for a gaming rig. I also don't know anything about selecting the right casing for the system. Obviously I'm waiting to look at a PSU because I don't know how much power I'll end up needing yet. Any advice on the hardware I have listed here would be great too. Thanks!

Hello Wolfdue.

For cooling I like the OCZ Vendetta 2 but the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme would work too as would the Xigmatek HDT-S 1283.

For power you will have to decide what your end goal is in so far as graphics cards are concerned in order to best calculate your needs which you can do by using this.. Build an SLI PC - Certified SLI-Ready Power Supplies

I would stay with OCZ, PC Power & Cooling, Corsair, Zalman, or some other quality name brand.

Not being a gamer I may not be of much use in the hard drive department as I just use SATA hard drives and have had no issues.

As for a case there are so many options but naturally you need space so it has to be at least ATX and I strongly recommend going only with designs that utilize 120mm case fans as they will move air but do it as quietly as possible.

I've been quite happy with the Coolermaster Centurion 534 which I've used at least four times now and found economical yet good looking with quality construction. Cooler Master Centurion 534 +plus- Mid tower case

Here again though your graphics card/s decision may well play a vital role and make a full tower a better choice for you.

I'm using an Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX+ in one of my machines and since I added a heatpipe cooler to the graphics card there isn't much space left in that case.

I'm looking at those brands you suggested for cooling systems right now. I decided to go with 6 gigs of ram (3x2GB) because I decided to use Vista 64 bit. I also decided to get two 4890's instead of a single GTX 295. I think I get more bang for my buck that way.

I can't use that Nvidia page because I switched to the ATI graphics cards, so hopefully someone can help me find a good one for SLI with those cards? I'm going to pick a case after I have everything picked out just so I don't have to worry about the size of my components. I'll definately take your advice into consideration when I do choose one, though.

It says 637w, but what about the amps on each rail?

Stick with a good name brand like the ones mentioned and the amps will be fine.

Since you are planning on using two graphics cards and you arrived at 637 watts I'd be inclined to be looking at something in the 800W range to have some leeway and allow for possible future changes.

If you happen across a sale go even higher.

You can't have too much power as the PSU will only use what your system requires so in the end how powerful of a PSU one has comes down to a balance of cost versus requirements.
