Solved: help needed with pc rebuild

I'm upgrading everything in my pc, the memory, graphics, processor, motherboard and operating system.
I took all the old stuff out and put all the new stuff in and it wouldn't boot up, so i took all the new stuff out put in the new stuff thinking I would have to install all the drivers and discs first and it still wouldn't boot up, I get a message saying NTLDR is missing?????don't know what that is, so I put the new motherboard back in and it still won't boot up same message.

Can someone tell me the correct proceedure for doing a rebiuld please before I really mess up or lose my temper and destroy all of it......also when do I add the new operating system, changing from xp to vista, after all the new stuff is in or before.

Really need help here

Midge do you have a floppy drive installed on this computer and 6 freshly formatted floppy disks?And wich XP are you trying to install?

There is a floppy disc drive but it's never used and I don't know if it even works..... no floppy discs freshly formatted.
It currently has windows xp as the operating system and I want to change to vista.

Are you getting NTLDR is missing with XP have you got Vista ready to install?

Or are you getting NTLDR is missing during Vista install?

Wich XP?Home or Pro?

Did you check out the link I posted?

It was while xp home was still the operating system. Link was a great help thanks, got Vista installed now and all the new hardware, processor, motherboard, graphics and memory and its all running a treat.......

You are most welcome.

I was going to say if you had Vista disk just go ahead and install NTLDR should not hinder Vista install if the NTLDR is missing error is in XP.
