I think that the EVGA mobo will work well for you if you can fit it into your budget.
That Gigabyte mobo that you were looking at would also be a good choice. However, if you are wanting to use two Nvidia GPU's it wouldn't work as it supports Crossfire but not SLI. If you wanted to use the Gigabyte one you could look at the ATI HD 4870 or the 4850 GPU. They are both very good from what I've read.

There's my two cents I hope it helps. Do some research and read some reviews. It really helps make sure things go smooth.

Thanks very much. I am hoping to buy a 9800GTX to fit into it.

Tell me, is it easy to overclock with this motherboard?

Well... I've never messed with one exactly like it, but the one I have in my computer is made by the same people and the bios is very easy to navigate. I found that with mine it was easy to overclock(I've just done the processor a little). The manual that EVGA sends with it is 72 pages(all in one language!) long and detailed. It also gives you some basic overclocking info. Mine is a 780i which I'm guessing is the bigger brother to the 750i so they should be similar.

There's no reason for any shame (?????). You completely misunderstood my reason for singling out the particular ASUS board you listed, the Commando. I'll try to explain it for you again. The board's Northbridge chipset is OLD TECH. My point being, regardless of what brand of new board you buy, even if it's ASUS, why not select one with newer technology?? I don't have any real preference as far as name brands go.

I understood your original post (open to all registered members) as a sort of feedback request to aid you in selecting a new motherboard. If I misunderstood your intent, then I just misunderstood. Good luck with whatever choice you make.......

To be honest I would buy a new upto date mainboard and CPU this then gives you a good start on a new build. You can buy better upgrades for now and the future.

Average of a 600 watt PSU or even a little higher gives you again scope to upgrade in the furure.

Gigabyte GA M57SLI-S4 SKT AM2 Nvidia MCP55P PCI-E 8Channel audio ATX - Ebuyer

Cheap AMD Motherboards at Ebuyer!

Cheap AMD Processors at Ebuyer - Sempron, Athlon, Opteron, Turion, Duron

I know you want Intel but some Gigabyte boards are intel compatable.
