Default I can't get my new computer to power up

This is my third computer I've built, and the first time i've ever had this problem.

Everything is completely installed, in the case, I go to power it on, and get nothin'. The blue ring around the power button lights up, but when I press the power button it does not turn on.

I know the power supply works because i took it out and installed it in an old computer and worked fine.

Please help, want to try and get this running.
-Spencer

Welcome to the PCHF.

Since you seem to have more than one computer.
Recommend you first checkout the Monitor, the keyboard, the mouse and anything else that can be easily moved to a working PC to verify that they each work.

Once you know the easily removable components work, if you can connect the monitor via the motherboard instead of the video card do so and remove the video card.

In other words, you want to strip the computer down to its least complicated configuration. If you have a sound board, remove it too.
If you have an external HDD, remove that also.

Now do you see any power up activity?

all mouses/keyboads/monitors work
-and i didn't buy a video card with this motherboard since it has great onboard video, such as dvi/hdmi/vga (GIGABYTE GA-MA78G-DS3H), so its already at the most simple configuration

still no power up activity, and the board has no light (like, theres actually no light on the board) which is kind of retarded, never had one that didn't have one before. there are also no post messages, or beeps

i was reading the reviews for the ram i bought and someone said this

"Short Version: Before buying this RAM, make sure your mobo supports RAM voltages of 1.9. Memory voltage must be set to 1.9 to run dual channel mode. Long Version: Built the computer from scratch, stuck in the ram, wouldn't even boot to bios. Hours of troubleshooting later I know the following: * All other components running fine. * Each stick will run through Memtest just fine. * Putting sticks in unpaired (non dual channel) DIMMS runs through Memtest fine. * Putting sticks in dual channel DIMMS will cause system instability and many Memtest failures. Eventually I found my answer in the bottom of the newegg reviews: The memory voltage must be set to 1.9v to run in dual channel mode. If you read this review, please mark it as 'helpful' so other people can find this review easily."

so i was wondering, how do i change my voltage? it sounds like i might have the same problem as him

The voltage will probably be controlled via the BIOS, but I am not a memory expert (Alzheimer's ).

Do you have a different set of memory strips to try?

When you press your power button, nothing happens at all? No fans turn on correct? You may have a faulty power button, or a faulty motherboard. Make sure the main connector from the Power supply is well connected, and make sure the power lead to the motherboard is installed correctly.
