I did a stupid thing and stuck a XD memory card in the wrong way to my laptops memory card slot. It is now stuck deep inside my HP Pavillion DV5000. I tried to take off the plastic case, but there are so many screws, and I don't know how to proceed. I don't care if the slot ever works again, this is the first and last time I will ever attempt to use it, but I NEED THAT MEMORY CARD. Any advice?

Sometimes tweezers can help, but you must be gentle! My recommendation is that if your unsure, take the laptop to your local PC repair shop. There can sometimes be hundreds of screws holding a laptop together, and this really is not something we can talk you through blindly, as every laptop is different between makes and models. Once your laptop has been taken apart, there is still the matter of gaining access to the reader, and some of these can be embedded into the motherboard, and I have no idea how this card has been lodged inside the reader.
