Hello every one.

I recently formated my c drive by putting in my XP cd and choosing boot from cd,i went through the relevent steps as i have done this before numerous times then it came to the bit where you have to enter your serial number.Thing is i have moved to spain and cant find my serial number.
So i have another version of XP but when i boot from cd to do another format windows just kicks in and i get this message "setup is being restarted" and it takes me back to where i should be entering my serial number.
So what i need to know is how can i get over this problem.
I do not have a floppy drive

Does your machine not have the sticker on it with the origonal key?

Are you using OEM disk or a retail?

You may have to buy a retail disk with its own key.

Yes i have another version of xp wich i bought but when i go to boot from cd the system over rides the xp cd and just goes back to the halfway stage of original install

You need an XP key.Do you not have one?

It is usaly on your pc or comes supplied with retail disk.
