Yeh its got a lot cheaper over the last year or so. When I first built this PC I got 2x512mb of the corsair stuff - good ram but it cost £70 at the time for just 1gb I can get 4gb for that price now

I just worked out that i`ve spent £230 upgrading this pc, id have been better off spending the cash on a new system! Oh well, at least doing all that has given me the confidence to self build

PC upgrading is always expensive, new stuff comes out and then after a few years you think gosh have I really spent £800+ on this PC

We could by a laptop for the amount we are spending on building a PC tower.
However we could or would not have the same sence of acheavement if we just bought a PC.
Could you upgrade a laptop to the degree of building and upgrading a PC?

I got rid of my laptop cos it was unbelievably slow.... I asked my dad today to lend me his credit card so i can order my parts... he`s thinking about it!! ( Fingers Crossed!!!)

He`s usually pretty good for things like that, especially as i told him i need it for work lol

I`ve changed the MB i`m getting to this one>Gigabyte GA M57SLI-S4 SKT AM2 Nvidia MCP55P PCI-E 8Channel audio ATX - Ebuyer more room for upgrades plus it means i can get everything from ebuyer and save loads of postage costs

Just gotta sit and wait now.... its killing me lol

Don't like laptops personally.
anything in my desktop-- I can fix pretty easily.
Laptop? yeah I could do it-- but it's such a pain.
No Cooling in the things -- no room to work, parts are tough to find.

For what mobility you gain-- unless you use it for work-- it's just not worth it.
When you build-your-own... you know exactly what you have,
it doesn't come pre-loaded with tons of crapware, you control the quality --of parts AND assembly.
It's way better to me-- I'll never buy off-the-shelf again, period.
