Really? Well, it's supposed to, goes a max speed, though like I said, with that 500Mhz CPU, it took me all night to render and compile the video into an AVI format lol

But the Mac Mini I currently use, 1.6Ghz C2D 2Gbs RAM, works wonderfully with Final Cut, and much cheaper then buying a beastly computer

Edit:

Of course, choice is yours, I just personally prefer having a significantly superior editing and DVD burning software to having a system that can render an hour faster, I'll happily sacrifice render/export time, ya can't rush video editing to do a good job

Yeah, I am currently using a P4 2.8 ghz, mini-dv camcorder, and a compilation of software. It is all horrible. The video capture is very difficult to get without any skips and only goes for 10 minutes at a time. So if I take 40 minutes of footage, it will stop every 10 minutes or every time it reaches blank tape. Then I have to check each one of those to make sure it came out OK. This is even after shutting down, closing all programs and using one video edit program at a time. Then I have to compile the clips, add effects, and review each one of those. It is a huge waste of time and the result is poor quality. I want a new computer regardless of getting a camcorder, but I definitely want a fast one. As far as the camcorder goes, I need the hdd for ease of use- I can not stand the inconvenience of tapes. The hd is not always going to be essential, but in most cases I will want to use it. I am already wasting huge amounts of memory with capturing mini-dv, re-capturing, and then making new files for each effect. It is definitely time to upgrade.

Well, I definitely recommend a mac mini and Final Cut, I've yet to have any issues with it, and I love my Mac Mini now

It's not uber fast, but it gets the job done efficiently

I recommend a windows computer, and use Adobe or.. if you can afford it, Abbot. ($$$$) You cannot game on a Mac mini, due to teh OSX, and if you install windows, the intel graphics card. I haven othing against macs, i would buy a Macbook or Macbook Air, but for my regular computer, i would go with a Windows XP or Vista (if you like it) machine.
