Thumbs up [Resolved] Help Me

Hi,
Just assembled a new desktop, having massive problems installing any versions of windows.
Setup is:
2 x MSI 8500GT 256MB OC Edition (SLi)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6400+
Asus M2N-E SLI Nvidia
OCZ StealthXStream 600W PSU
Western Digital WD5000AAKS 500GB
OCZ 2GB Kit DDR2 800Mhz ATI Certfified
ZALMAN CNPS 9500 AM2
Pioneer DVR-215DBK 20X SATA DVD±RW DL
Firstly, any reasons why any of this would be incompatible?
(My friend has almost the same setup, and his works fine.)
I've tried 3 different XP Pro SP2 CD's and Vista. All XP CDs seem to crash at random points during the install, sometimes just restarting without errors and sometimes throwing up a BSOD or a file copy error.
Vista wouldn't even load the installer, just said "NTLDR is missing" when trying to install on a completly blank HDD.
Memory passed memtest and hard drive tested in another computer and works fine.
Have reset CMOS using motherboard jumper and re-entered all settings but no joy.
DVD drive also seems to work as I can boot off CDs e.g Ultimate Boot CD

Any ideas anyone? Help would be much appreciated

All is well now. Windows is installed. Turned out that the motherboard was by default supplying the RAM with only 1.8v and they are designed to run at anywhere between 1.9v to 2.1v. I just manually set the voltage to 1.95v, which was the highest setting.

Thanks
