lol the best processor on the market costs in excess of $1000. Its a quad Core Penryn, which if you are not a hardcore gamer, you definetly dont need it. If you are worried about noise, cooling and those otehr things, these might be appropriate.

I don't know if it's within the rules to call out a company's name on this forum, but I'll give it a shot and see what happens.

You've already received some very good recommendations on a new build. Though I've bought several items from Newegg, I'd like to recommend an alternate source for some if not all of your hardware: Directron.

Their prices are sometimes a few dollars more, but for a very low fee they will test your items before shipping. If for no other reason, knowing the parts operate correctly when I get them helps me sleep at night. They also have a forum where you can ask questions about any of the parts they sell BEFORE you buy them.

No need to worry about name dropping, if you can say NewEgg and Ebay you can say Directron
