Question Weird HD size

Not to sure where I should post this but anyway.. I have just finished parting together a IBM E-server X series 330 with twin 9.1 drives twin 1 gig proc. and a gig of ram also has a second SCSI card (with two ports for array access) and a 5 port USB card. Now you must understand that I have no Idea what the hell I'm doing with this stuff or how to use it. I'm just the local PC repair Dude on the Block. mostly hardware and file recovery also alot of return to XP from Vista installs lately. But back to my issue. I installed windows server 2003 stand. ed. and found only one of the drives. upon using the disk management in the admin. tools I found that the other drive was not only there but now was twice its size and could not be initialized or accessed. Also upon bootup it shows 5 logical drives where are they at? I also diabled the bios on the second scsi card prior to installing windows kinda thought that the internal cards bios and that ones might cause some conflicts with the installation, but now I'm not sure if I should turn it on again or not. I could sure use some pointers on this one since this is my first blade server I am not familar with the hardware enviroment or servers either for that matter but I plan to hook it up to a half terrabyte array that I got laying around and use it for data storage (not to sure how to work that one out yet either. LOL.) or some such thing. gotta learn something new I guess!!
Any advice would help me since I have no dang idea what I'm doing. But then again Ladies I am just a man after all so thats to be expected. (snicker)

Thanks!!!

When installing Server 2003, did you set any partition settings? It seems to me some partitioning has gone awry, but that may just be me.

When I did the install it detected both drives as raw and at the correct size. I installed it onto a single drive with a single partition and that is the only one I get to use for some reason. could it by chance be some type of shadow volume or a mirror? (not sure what those are but I've seen some references to them in some tech books.) please help the ignorant!!

i hate scsi :-(

Try googling "scsi termination".

Shadow volume you would have to set up manually. So if you installed server 2003 and dont know what that is chances are you didnt enable it. If you right click the drive or drives, depending on if they are raided or not, see if a quota was set.

A mirror if im correct, is a RAID 1 or a RAID 1+0 if you have 2 scsi cards with a mirror and a span.

let me know if this helps or if none of those helped.
