I've never done anything like this before so thanks in advance for your help even if the questions are a bit stupid.

I have this MoBo:

And I want to know if this CPU will work with it:
BX80557E2160 | INTEL | Motherboards, CPUs & Memory | Computer Products | CPC

I know they both say the LGA775, but I have a habbit of getting things wrong when I don't have a clue.

I don't think that motherboard is Dual Core compatible...it can handle (up to) Hyper-Threading only.

Your correct hengis. That motherboard supports only intel Pentium 4 processor. Yes, that procesor is compatible with your motherboard.

Hopefully everything will go together nicely but thats nearly garaunteed not to be the case knowing me.

It should be a nice average spec. PC... Well... better than my current Celery 2.6Ghz PC anyway.
