An Anti-static bag...(sorry for stating the obvious...)
Well, I imagine any surface that doesn't conduct electricity, maybe cardboard, wood perhaps?

Well in a proper PC repair enviroment you use an anti stat mat and it's hooked the the earth of the building

Like the mats here Antistatic Mat, single layer homogeneous mat, ESD mats, Anti static mat

It's much cheaper but not static free the same as the anti stat bag. You know when you walk on carpet and can shock people? I hope that won't happen to your hardware .

An anti static bag only protects while sealed in the bag if you put a mainboard on it and work on it you still have a chance of stuffing it with static.

Before every one starts I no most people just do the anti static bag thing I have plenty of times but it is not truly static free sorry dude Any way hardware is cheap I guess your not working on million dollar equipment
