Question Making a PC safe for learning disability user

Hi! I want to pass on my Toshiba Satellite A100 Windows XP laptop to someone with learning disabilities who will not be technically competent at all. I want him to be able to sign on safely to the Internet and maybe run WORD and perhaps one or two PC games. Over the past couple of years I've allowed this laptop to be filled up with software, documents and other files. How do I begin to get it back to the condition it was in when I first bought it? Anyone able to help please with suggestions for ways to keep the internet usage free of unsuitable materials.

Do yo have the original Windows XP install disk that came with it? If so, reinstall windows, making sure to reformat teh hdd in the process (do a quick format in Windows setup)

Hello Eusebius,

First, delete all your files and documents (My Documents folder and My Pictures and My Music)

Remove programs/games you have added by clicking Start>Control Panel>Add/remove programs.

If you want even further cleaning, post back after completing those steps.

Thanks
