I'm sorry but you can't even use 4Gbs with a 32bit OS. And why an AMD? The core2 line is much more powerful for little price increase.

The nForce5 chips are also utter crud

I understand that. It will give you bwtween 3 and 3.5 gigs depening on the system. And yes, its worth the price.

AMD>> Because its cheaper, have excellent performance for much less cost.

And the nforce 5 chips are the best chips out there for the Socket AM2. I have built several using them, all work perfectly, no complaints. Also, do you read reviews?

Mm.. For AMD.. Was thinking along the lines of most Intel CPUs with nForce5, though I haven't heard anything great about the nForce5 with AMDs.

The Conroe architecture is far superior to the AMD architectures, it's well worth the extra few bucks

for the E6750, its an extra hundred dollars. and for the motherboard an additional 30. so that plus the harddrive and the sound card makes..ok it comes to $1100. i was trying to save him some money, because for what hes told me hes doing, he doesnt need that sort of performance, and the extra cost is not justifiable.

But paying for extra RAM and not actually being able to use it is justifiable? O.o

Well, you're the one with the tech title, not me, do as you wish

*sighs* I told you, Anandtech does it with their testing as well. He will gain another gig or 1.5gigs of usable RAM from it. and no, he cant use 512 meg sticks to make another gig, because then it wont run in dual channel mode, therefor really slowing down the computer.
