No prob's. One final question, before we start to check out hardware, can you look at the last file that appears when installing XP, is it the same everytime? and if so, what is the name of that file?

well it not installing XP its just the first blue screen to get ready - eg partioning hard drive etc - The last thing i can remember seeing is Press F6 to set up Raid etc.

Ok i just ran the pc again its the Windows XP - Getting Setup files ready and it get to the Kernel Debugger DLL stage and then turns off.

Tru, at that point, have you ever received a Blue Screen of Death? It would only flash up for a second, but may contain the words "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"? If it's something different, please let me know.

Can I also confirm that your using an original XP Setup CD? Can you also try to clean the CD and make sure the CD is not scratched?

Nope no blue screen - and ye it is the original setup CD and i have cleaned the CD and its not scratched
