AW: I myself prefer A-Data memory. It's beautiful reliable, and has an exceptionally low DOA rate. Unfortunately I didn't see any for his motherboard.

Just about any DDR2 will work for his motherboard. Though i recommend he get some DDR2 800, 667, or even 533 will work with it. Very rarely do you have to follow the compatability list for motherboards, because there are so many different RAMs out there, they cant possibly put all on the list.

I'm just in the habit. For my particular motherboard, you HAVE to follow the compatibility list very strictly until you do a BIOS update, so I figured rather than getting another set afterwards, I'd get a big set for all the time that was a compatible type. That's how I found A-Data.

So anyway, after searching all that time, I just got in the habit of following the type of RAM listed as compatible by the Newegg Crucial test to a T.

Oh and i dont recommend Vista 64 bit. not even a little. If you have to go vista, get the 32 bit version. 64 has severe compatability issues with just about anything. If you dont have to, go XP. XP is a million times better IMO

Listen to AW, he's a techie! (Even though I am getting 64-bit. I need that RAM.)
