The Licence for vista states that the installation of vista is tied to the motherboard and it cannot be activated on a new motherboard unless it was a replacement for a broken motherboard or equivalent. Upgrades are not allowed. But it is still cheaper to buy two oem discs i believe than one retail disc.

With retail you can change motherboard and computer aslong as it is only on one pc at a time. My advice is go for oem, and if you need to upgrade buy it again and you'll still be better off than buying retail, unless you know your going to change motherboard a lot.

I've upgraded my motherboard to the ABIT Pro but the case says this:

Fits Motherboard Size up to 11" x 12"

and my mobo says this:


Physical Spec Form Factor ATX Dimensions 12.0" x 9.6"
Will this still fit?

It is an ATX motherboard, so it should fit. I have not yet seen an ATX case that wont fit a standard ATX motherboard.

For $20 more, you can get the E6750 Core 2 Duo CPU, which is more powerful. For only $20 more, I wouldn't pass that chance up, personally.

I am, I have built a whole new system, thats why I was asking. Way better than this one for only a few hundred more.
