I'm new here and am not sure if this is the place to post this, but here it goes:
I have an older laptop, a Dell Inspiron 2200 and I'm trying to format it and put windows xp pro onto it, and everytime I get into the part where it starts to actually install the files after the format, it doesn't go anywhere and gives me multiple I/O errors. I purchased a new hdd thinking that was the problem, but I get the same thing. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Please ensure that your CD drive is securely inserted into the motherboard and that the ribbon cable (or SATA cable, whichever it is) is plugged into the back of the CD drive.
Are you using a SATA Hard-Drive? You are using SATA drivers if so, right? I Hyper-Threading disabled in the BIOS? |
