These sites are good Video-card resources--the top link lists 106 brands of 8600 GT cards-- and there are huindreds of others. I haven't had a Nvidia product for years- but I'm not the biggest gamer by any measure.

I really must emphasize-- you generally do NOT get a decent Power-Supply with most cases-- they are almost always "junk"-- especially for less than $100 US.
The Power supply-- while not a "glamorous" part of your build-- is THE most important in my opinion.
You will be much better off to spend some cash on a good PSU now ... than to buy poorly built/inadequate "stocker" that will fail you-- and then you will be forced to spend the additional money, anyway.
You can listen, or not, it's your call-- but if you buy one that's "thrown in with the case".... I will very nearly guarantee you will regret it later. That is why I suggested the brand names in my previous post.

The PSU is the "foundation" you build your "house" on--
would you build a house on a foundation that is already cracked/crooked/crumbling???

We spend much time convincing other users that they need to replace that "cheapo" PSU-- that IT is the root of all their BSODs/boot failures/poor game performance... not their $400+ Video card-- or their good quality RAM.
I am trying to save you from that ordeal.

Please forgive the "sermon"

Hello all, this is my final draft build, a couple of changed noted below. My main lack of knowledge is now about whether these seperate parts are compatable, e.g. does my motherboard not support my CPU/power etc...

New power (im going to use my current case)
OCZ 600GXS Sli -UK nVidia Sli Ready 600W Power Whisper Technology Active PFC (3 year Direct Manufacturer's PowerSwap warranty) - OCZ600GXS SLI -UK - www.microdirect.co.uk

I currently have a 120gb ATA HD, which has all my music on etc etc. I want to keep it obviously, how easy will it be to "drag and drop" onto a new SATA HD?? Also, will i be able to run programs such as NERO dvd burner and Itunes off of my OLD HD without having to find all the old CD's and reinstalling them on the NEW SATA drive???

THanks for all your help,

Barnetti

Now THAT's a Power Supply

That mobo has an IDE connector... you can run the second drive off that -- OR-- you could get an external USB enclosure for the drive and connect it that way. You'd lose nothing.

The Processor / Mobo are fine -- I see no issues

Hi Barnetti. I like your specs. Would you let us know how it goes and whether you missed any thing out in your costings or whether you would do anything different after you complete your build?
