Default Sata XP fresh install issues...

So forgive me if this has been addressed a million times before...

I just recently started building a system, and now that I am almost finished, windows doesnt want to load. I get the blue screen of death after setup tries to go into the actual instalation process.

I have read a lot of defferent things to try that ehich havent worked. Things like putting the SATA drivers that supposedy come with the Mobo on a floppy and F6 it to get it to load.

I tried using a process that takes the windows cd, and the drivers and makes a new windows install disk to use with the drivers on it.

I tired these methods, however on the CD that came with my mobo, I can't locate which drivers are Sata specific, so i just copied them all over and in the middle of windows setup it failed both times.

Then I found something on the support section of Intel for my mobo saying that I need to update my bios. I tried this with three different methods but alas I cant get it to boot, even though i made a "boot disk"

anywhoo, Im lost and at my wits end.
specs:
Intel® Desktop Board D945GCCRL
WD Caviar SATA 500Gb HDD
XP Pro
Intel Pentium D 805 2.66Ghz

any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I suggest you to try installing windows on an IDE hard drive and then update your BIOS in windows. After that, remove the IDE hdd and try installing windows again on your SATA hdd. Hope that helped!
