| CD/DVD Rom - no bootable cd in atapi posted in the Hardware forums; Hi on trying to start up laptop I am getting this message and just goes back on itself and tries again. Any help greatly appreciated, kids off school this week ... |

no bootable cd in atapi
Hi on trying to start up laptop I am getting this message and just goes back on itself and tries again. Any help greatly appreciated, kids off school this week ahead so them being able to use laptop will keep the better half sane.

It sound like you have a cd in the drive, that will gey Windows to spit the dummy on boot up.
Open the drive and have a look...

The problem first occured when there was a cd in drive but this has been removed and still not working.

Hi,
Still suffering from same problem on laptop any help appreciated, I have read somewhere about reloading windows disk, but worried laptop has lots of photos etc on it that I do not wish to lose, so hoping for a simpler solution. |
