CD/DVD Rom - CD Drive won't Open posted in the Hardware forums; I have a problem where when i push the button on my computer to open the CD Drive, nothing happens. Whats Wrong? I really want to install MSFS for W95...

Default CD Drive won't Open
I have a problem where when i push the button on my computer to open the CD Drive, nothing happens. Whats Wrong? I really want to install MSFS for W95

Hey dude have you checked internal connections?What if you use windows eject function on the driver,does it open?

If you right click on the cd drive icon in My Computer do you see the word "Eject" in the drop down box? If you do click on it and that should open the cd tray for you

Hi Segadude,

It may be that your cd drive is on it's way out and needs to be replaced.

You can manually open it by inserting a paperclip into the little hole you see at the front.

If it's still reading cd's then i'd say the opening mechanism may be broken. If it's not showing up in BIOS as per previous posts then you'll have to buy a new one.
