Ok, first off thanks in advance for the help. You guys have helped me out of a couple of other situations before.

Well i have a Pavilion a6020a desktop computer with a *Lightscribe DVD SuperMulti Drive/CD drive* dvd drive.

The problem im having is i can read CD's fine(play music, load games off of cd-roms etc), and my PC recognizes DVD's, but i cant play them in HP DVD PLAY. Im not sure on where to start, so i thought i might ask you guys.

I'm runnin Vista home basic
512mb DDR2
160gb 3G SATA hardrive
Lightscribe DVD SuperMulti Drive/CD drive

Welcome back, have you checked to make sure that all of your drivers and updates have been done?

Also, did this player ever work properly with DVDs?

Thanks for the reply, yeah the dvd drive is up to date,, and yeah it used to play dvd's. It just suddenly stopped working. Cant figure out why.

Hey Axl,

Have you tried any other media players? I am assuming that the HP DVD Play came with the PC, perhaps the program has become corrupted.

Is it listed seperately on the restore CD by any chance?

Is Vista the only OS you have had on this PC, or is it an upgrade?
