these what happened, Im creating a photo slideshow in movie maker and trying to burn it on cd but it took too much time to load. I installed a Nero express v5.5 and tried to burn from here but it doesn't detect my drive. So i just made it in mpeg4 format and drag and burn it into the DVD drive. it burnt successfully. I also burnt all the Pictures in another cd by drag and burn. But after I burnt successful cd's. I had 3 burnt failed, because it took time ti finish that is why I abort some of them. After a few days, I opened my desktop pc again and planning to install a game. It doesn't recognize the cd. and i also tried dvd's. it only spins, and my desktop cursor is showing the arrow with cd. but after a few seconds. the DVD will eject saying that "please insert a disk". I dont know what's wrong. I already uninstalled Nero, i already tried to uninstall the driver from Device Manager and intalled it again, i also tried to update. but it was already updated. Then one day I tried to insert a blank CD. and it recognized the CD and autorun starts. I clicked burn a new cd. but after that, failed burning. i also tried cleaning the drive. and also, the drive is working properly said in the Device manager. please help me. thanks

You say your DVD-RW cannot burn CDs?

You need a CD-RW to burn CDs and a DVD-RW to burn DVDs.

Yup. my DVD RW cant burn cds and also dvds at this time. It cant also read and recognize a DVD/CD. but a month ago, i successfully burnt files on a cd. Was a DVDRW cant burn a cdr? Does it caused my DVD RW to malfunction?

Could you update the drivers for your DVD-RW via device manager?

Could you check cables internaly have not become loose.

DVD-RW do not burn CDs.

yup i tried to updated. this what it said "The best driver for your device is already intalled"

hmm,. about the DVD writer cant burn CDs. does it caused my dvd writer to malfunction, because i did burnt cds with this driver
