Default No Grief Here

Picked up a New Store Built in XP, 2gigRAM but a lower end Video card, & 350W Power Supply Unit

Installed a 8600GT factory overclocked to 680 core speed. LOOKS ACCEPTABLE

But it came with a single drive DVD +/- RW not my chioce

I'm going down to walmart soon

What Media . CAN . . I use?

I would've been happy with a CD-RW, and second DVD-ROM

hey fish,

I'd be careful over clocking the card with such a small power supply. those 8600 eat up power and 380w prolly wont cut it. why do you want a 2nd media drive? the dvd burner drive is more then you need.

The 8600GT in stock form Eats 43 Watts a 300 Watt Power Supply Unit happy motoring

The 8600GTS stock is 71 Watts, it needs a 350 Watt Power Supply Unit
Which would be to close for me with as I only have a 350

The 8600GT normally has a clock of 540mhtz this puppy has been overclocked at the factory to 680mtz with a bigger heat sink, and a Zalman Fan
I figure it pulls 55watts tops

My old rig, was getting a bit OLD in AGP and was a Dell, no other Motherboard would fit.
I was up as high as 550Watts running an ATI X1950 512MB

This one gives Better Eye Candy

Never needed more than a CD-RW and DVD drive for my games
Also . . I'm lazy . . I'd leave my CFS3 ( which is a dog ) but required for Flying OFF in one, FS9 in the other
