Default Cannot play DVD's

I recently Tried to play a DVD on my PC (Windows Vista Ultimate) and got this error message

Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card.

I have installed And reinstalled the latest Nvidia Drivers and also installed CCCP but im still stuck with the same problem. I did some googleing and found out that Vista Ultimate Comes with everything necessary to play DVD's

One last thing I had bought a External TV tuned a few weeks ago but every time i tried to play Live TV in Windows Media Center i would get sound but no picture and eventually i would get "Display driver Stopped Working" (almost the same symptoms As when i try and play a DVD) But in Dscaler live TV worked 100% fine? Could my DVD problem and Tv Tuner be having the same problem? (Shouldn't have taken it back so soon)

Anyways any help would be great.

MMMMM,have you checked under WMP 11 tools to see if ALL the file type box,s are checked?

Windows Vista Help: Codecs: frequently asked questions

Playing music and video files

Windows Media Player FAQ

Plug-ins for Windows Media Player

Windows Vista Help: Music

Reinstall drivers.

Was this a burned CD/DVD?As in home made?
Or was this a shop bought?

How is WMP 11 setup not to play copy right DVD/CDs?
Or have you downloaded certificates for you to play copyrighted DVD/CDs?

Have you checked that the codecs are installed?
Have you checked your new tv tuner card is setup properly in BIOS?

Have you turned off onboard graphic card in BIOS?

Have you installed an encoder?

You need a payed for codecs as far as i can tell?

Update directx.

Because Microsoft-- or someone else says that Vista comes with everything needed-- does not necessarily make it so.

Video playback --especially copy-protected content-- is constantly changing.
You may need a codec- to make this video play correctly. You should not have to pay for it-- as there are people out there trying to keep up with every change they make.... but it may take a bit of trial and error for it to work correctly.

Download Vista Codec Package 4.6.0 Beta 2 / 4.5.9 Final - With this package installed, you shouldn't need to install any other codec or filter - Softpedia

Ok well i see what you mean, Sorry if i seemed thick headed before. Downloaded the codec pack but when ever i try and run it all i get is a blank command prompt screen that only stays open for a second? is that suppose to happen? Im still having the same problem, When i try and play the DVD the video is Grey and a few seconds after my Display Driver Crashes and windows tells me what it had before. Is this a problem with my nvidia Driver??
