Default [Fixed] New lightscribe causing problems

Hi all , I installed a new lightscribe drive today , its an IDE so i used the IDE cable coming from the original CD/DVD drive to connect it to the motherboard. The PC is now not recognised either of the drives I have installed , as it recognised the original one i still have there before the lightscribe was installed.
Power isnt the problem I dont think as i can open both the drives and close them.
PC Wizard says I have 0 CD/DVD drives.
Please can someone help?!
thanks!

Hello and welcome to PC Help Forum.

Did you set drives as master and slave?

Little plastic jumper pins on edge of CD/DVD drives.

Here these links will help you out.HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - Jumper Settings for the Installation of IDE Hard Disks and CD, CDRW, and DVD Drives

Lenovo Support & downloads - DVD-ROM drive jumper settings - NetVista 6832, 6833

Install CD Burner, Installing a CD Writer or DVD player/burner

I know they are not for your exact make n model but the princibles are exactly the same.

Leave the origonal drive as master. You may need to set cable select in BIOS.It is on the links for you.Make sure you have them correctly in order on IDE cable.

Then install software and drivers that came with new drive.

Hope this helps?Let me know how it goes?
