CD/DVD Rom - suddenly the Cd rom/dvd won't recognize cd's or dvd ?? posted in the Hardware forums; HI there ANY IDEAS ANYONE
Sudddenly my Cd rom DRIVE /dvd/CRW won;t play any of my Cd's or movies or DVDs
Says WINDOWS CAN'T READ IT , IS CORRUPTED OR ...

THEY PLAYED FINE TILL NOW
iT JUST SEEMS TO SPIN SO THE HARDWARE WORKS BUT IT WAN;T READ
NEVER SEEM THIS BEFORE
ANY IDEAS WHAT IT IS PR CAN BE
iT;S A LAPTOP WINDOWS XP OPERATING SYTEM
DELL INSPIRON 3 YEARS OLD NOT EVEN.................

Hi welcome to PCHF try a cd /dvd audio head cleaner in the drive to see if it just needs cleaning. If it won't work after that it will be a faulty/worn out cd/dvd drive. Replacement cd/dvd drives for laptops are costly.
