Hello all ive got problem and im hoping one of you tech gurus can help.When i turn on the laptop it takes a very long time to boot up whith the cd rom closed,if i press eject or have the cd open it boots up fine any ideas and also it makes a chugging sort of sound as if its struggling if that makes any sense many thanks in advance.

Sounds as if it is looking to boot from the cd rom
Go into the BIOS and change the boot order to Hard drive as first device.
