CD/DVD Rom - CD/RW drive not writing posted in the Hardware forums; I replaced the IDE ribbon cable as suggested by Hengis and the Cd/Rw drive still will not copy my files. Still reads any thing I put in it-----just can't write ...

Default CD/RW drive not writing
I replaced the IDE ribbon cable as suggested by Hengis and the Cd/Rw drive still will not copy my files. Still reads any thing I put in it-----just can't write anything to a CD

It is possible in that case that the CD Rom is faulty. One very quick way to find out is to try it in another PC.
