DVD Drive Problem in Windows Vista
I just suddenly started having a problem where my computer would boot up all the way to the desktop and suddenly freeze about 2-5 minutes later.
I tried a system restore, but this did not fix the problem, so I had to do a factory restore. My DVD drive read the Recovery Disks just fine, and the restore process was successful.... until I realized that, while my DVD drive can read discs during the boot up process, it does not read them while in Windows (this goes for software disks and burned disks).
I have a an HP Pavilion DV9548us, with (from the device driver) an HL-DT-ST DVDRAM BSA-T20L ATA Device operating on Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit)
Anyone have suggestions on what I did wrong??
