I recently purchased an external drive case and an LG DVD Drive. I'm using it on my laptop, and it came with a cd for installing the drivers. I installed what was on the disc, and I get nothing. My laptop won't even recognize that I have anything plugged in.

Here is the DVD drive that I am using:

And this is all I know about the external case:
1 Drive 5.25 USB 2.0 Case External USB 2.0 Ide Drive Case

Where do I go for help now? I dont really understand a whole lot about drivers, and getting them updated and such. I would of thought that the latest stuff should have been on that disc that I got... so any input would be nice. Thanks...

Do you have problems with any other USB devices?

Also what O.S. are you using, and is it updated?

all other USB devices work fine. I am using windows xp pro sp2 and it is up to date.

wow, turns out my bran new equipment came with a bad USB cable. I hooked up an old cable that I had and it works fine now. Thanks for the great site and help I've gotten on it in the past.
