Ok so I have a laptop computer I just reformatted. I installed the OS. It's an HP so I installed it from the HP CD. Next, it wanted me to installed the Driver DVD. So I put the DVD in and it buzzed like it was reading and then sat there. I opened it manually and tried to run setup.exe from the Run command. Nothing. I even copied the enitre folder from the DVD to the harddrive to run it. Nothing. But I need to install the drivers!! Btw, it's also one of those CD-RW-Rom drives and it reads just fine. it's only the DVD half.

Same thing is happening on my HP desktop! I can read movie DVDs and play them, but I can't read data DVDs and it recognizes that there's a DVD drive in My computer but not the DVD. Help!

Can you go to the HP United States - Computers, Laptops, Servers, Printers & more site - search for your laptop and download the correct drivers from there? Also, check to see if the folder you copied from the DVD is "read only" by right clicking on it.
