Angry [Resolved] Windows Shut Down - DVD Writer

I have two DVD writers installed in my PC. They read CDs fine, but when I put a DVD in either of them the computer shuts down and I get this blue screen Stop error:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

stop 0x0000000a (0x0000000 blah blah blah

.......Disable memory caching or shadowing. blah blah blah

(I cannot for the life of me figure out how to disable memory caching. It's not in BIOS)

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. That didn't work. Then I read some stuff about how certain Intervideo DVD writing programs can screw things up. So I removed the program but I noticed that both DVD writers use this "ivicd" driver (which was still present in my drivers folder after I uninstalled Intervideo, which is weird because the description of the driver says it's an Intervideo driver). I also noticed that when I boot in Safe Mode the last driver to load on that driver loading screen or whatever it's called was ivicd. So I manually deleted the driver, and now neither of my drives work, nor can they reinstall themselves correctly when I reboot. They now have a yellow exclamation point next to them in the device manager.

I have an ASUS P5WD2E-Premium mobo
Pentium D 3.4Ghz
2G Kingston HyperX DDR2 SDRAM 800 (PC2 6400)
(2)Western Digital Caviar RE WD3200YS 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drives

The two drives are
Pioneer - DVR-111D (master)
LG GSA-H10N (slave)

What in God's name is going on?? Please tell me I don't have to reinstall Windows (everything else works fine!)

Suggest you delete the DVD devices from the Device Manager and reboot.
This will allow Windows to rediscover the drives and install the default drivers.

I tried that and Windows did rediscover the drives but the problem still persisted. I even updated the firmware for both writers and it still happened. When I pulled that ivicd driver out both devices started showing the exclamation point.

1. Disconnect the DVD drives.
Try to go into Safe mode without the DVD drives connected.
Does the Safe Mode still try to install the DVD driver?

2. If the above doesn't work, suggest you reinstall the Intervideo software.
Since you already have a problem, I don't see how reinstalling the program can hurt.

Good Luck...
