Default Pioneer DVR-710 111-D Drive

I bought a Pioneer DVR-710 111-D DVD-/+RW drive a few days ago. It can't read what's in it. I tried uninstalling the driver then reinstalling it. Worked perfectly until yesterday. Can anybody tell me what I can do to "fix" it? (I've tried setting the jumper to Cable Select. Didn't work. Tried setting it to slave and my CD-ROM to Master. Didn't work either. Tried changing the Ultra DMA Mode all the way from Mode 0 to Mode 5. Failed. Don't know what else to do.)

Hi jmarket,

Have you tried updating the firmware on the drive? Otherwise it might just be faulty and you'll need to take it back.

I'm beginning to think that this drive is faulty. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. (MOST of the time) If you have any further advice, please tell me.

Now it can ONLY read CD's but NOT DVD's. Any clue on how to fix this or what might be causing this?
