Default My internal cdrom drive is not working

My internal cdrom drive is not working. When the systems boots up there is a message that reads, device driver not found but will found A: drive and so forth. Should I replace the internal CDROM? My external CDROM work fine. I haven’t use this computer for almost 3 years til I found out it was only the power supply. When you go to My Computer, the D: is not there but when I plug in my external cdrom, the D: will appear. What’s the deal here??

Do you see you CD-ROM appear on the list, along with your HDD's when you first switch your PC on? As an example, your screen will look slightly different:
