Hello again Darryl,

You don't actually need the audio cables anymore.
They haven't been required for over 7 years now. The reason being is they now send the audio over the IDE cable.

I have the ribbon and the power in. what else do I need then?

I had a look at my normal cd writer and it don't got audio cable in use or whatever. All it has is the ribbon and power in.

So what more do I need to do, to get my dvd writer working? Get a driver? install nero that came with it?

Sorry about the questions, Just I'm only 15 and I'm mainly into programing, scripting,

Cheers,
Darryl.

No problems Darryl

On the back of each cd/dvd drive there is a little "jumper" setting...
With 3 settings that you need to worry about...Cable Select (CS), Master and Slave

Set both to CS and it should be fine

Default Re: Dvd(re)writer

If your using cable select (which tbh I would not) make sure the cd drive is in the middle of the cable and the dvd rw is at the far end away from the motherboard. Dvd rewiters if in a multi drive enviroment are better set as master (which at the end of the cable jumpered as cable select it will be)
