Default Cd-Rom won't read and my cds plus tray wont eject.

My cd-rom doesn't work I have tried to uninstall it and reinstall and that doesnt work. I have tried different ribbon cables and that doesn't work. In device manger says that device is working properly. I am going crazy here trying to fix this and I cant get it to work. Please help ASAP

This is what I am running:

Win Xp Home edition
VER 2002
Service Pack 2
l Pent 4 CPU 2.40 Ghz
1.82 Ghz , 1.00 GB Ram

Hello gurutech24,

Welcome to PCHF.

If a CD is stuck in the drive, there is a tiny hole below the drive tray. Use a paperclip to release the drive door. Do all your CD's get stuck? Are there any CD's at all that work?
