Default Lost DVD Drive

Hi

I have a HP compaq nc6120 with Windows NT (reconditioned). It was experiencing hardware problems which made it keep crashing. I (wrongly) deleted the affected file but now my DVD drive is not recognised and have a PCI error when I go into device manager (Code 28), when I go to reinstall the driver the PC can't find a new driver.

The player is a TEAC-DV-28E-N but have been on their site but cannot get a driver.

How do I reinstall the driver I deleted??

Hi Kudos,

The drivers should be part of your Windows 2000 installation CD, as long as you have another working CD player you can use. Right click on the faulty driver, and go to update driver. Click on Install from specific location, Next, and tick Search removable media, Next and you should then pickup the driver from there.

^ This is the only easy fix you have. If don't have an alternative CD player or windows 2000 cd, your going to be looking at an absolute nightmare to get those drivers on there otherwise Kudos.
