Default DVDrom suddenly stopped reading

Hey! For the past few days i've had my Battlefield 2142 dvd in the drive, working fine. Today I wanted to install Splinter Cell Pandorra Tommorow, I put in the dvd and it was installing cd1. Then it wouldn't read CD2! Or anyother cd's/dvd's.
So I updated firmware, restarted and then it would read it again. But it's stopped working again!

Help would be appreciated

EDIT: It works with audio discs!

Hi there Cowburn ,

could you please tell us.

* Make and model of computer.

* Make and model of DVD drive and, if possible, the name and version of the driver software in use (you can find this info in Device Manager).

* The version of Windows you are using.

It is a JLMS XJ-HD165H, driver version is 5.1.2535.0

I am using Windows XP Service pack 2

Thanks

I'm not really experianced in fixing problems like this so i'll let a tech take over

Thats good you built it yourself now please post your motherboard make and model.

In device manager does it show a yellow exclamation mark next to the dvd drive.
