i had a problem with my cd/dvd when i tried to play a dvd movie,the cd light didnt stop,and whn i rebooted i could start windows(it stucked on the ide chK)
so i disconected the cd and the windows was ok.after i tried to reconnect the cd(i did it while the computer is open...) but its not working,the lights dont turn on,anbd my computer cant idetify the cd.
is it becoz i reconnected it while the pc is open? can it be destroid from that?
or is there another option?

Turn your computer off and take the power cable out of the PSU.

Disconnect everything that is connected to the CD-ROM drive including the power cable..
Make sure the cable is connected to the motherboard properly (remove it and put it back on if need be)

**Check the pins on the back on the CD-ROM and make sure none of them have been bent.**

Then connect the IDE cable back onto the CD-ROM with the power and plug you power cable back into the PSU.

Turn your machine on and see whether it works.

I did it again but it just dont work..the cd is like "dead" the light isnt on.
i tried to connect it to my whole sleeves but nothing works,the other devices(hard drives) works fine.

Afraid it sounds like your CD-ROM could be blown... do you have another one you could test or another machine that you could test this CD-ROM on...

well,a new one is 35$ not so exp'
i'll get a new one :-)
