Default Can't Burn DVD9's... Please Help

I just bought a movie that isn't copyright protected. it is on a DVD9. so i downloaded magic DVD copier. I put the movie in my F: drive and a blank DVD4.7 in my E: drive. i burnt the DVD9 to two DVD 4.7's (thats all i had at the time) and it worked fine. i decided to go to the store and buy some DVD9's. and for some reason they will not burn. does anyone know why. i have used magic DVD copier, like 5 others on the internet. and Nero. the F: drive reads perfectly fine but when it gets to the burning process there is an error. one of the programs even went through but didn't actually burn on the disc.

So if anyone knows why this is occuring i would really appreciate the help.

Hello Troy - Welcome to the forum!

I am sure one of our great staff or helpful members will be able to help you

Do you have an error code displayed when the burning fails?

I will mark this as open in anticipation of your reply

Don't know what you are using to burn but I use DVDFab and have never had any issues whereas I did with other products.

If you have the space, you might also try ripping it to the hard drive first and then burning. I think most cd/dvd copying software has that option.

So you bought a movie that was on a disk of 7.95GB in size that didn't have any copyright protection on it?

Can I ask 2 questions?

What was the movie?

How do you know there was no copyright protection on it?

As far as I am aware most manufacturers prefer to use 4.7GB disks and multiples thereof for examples like say Titanic which was quite a lengthy film.

Nero says Burn Process Failed at 2.4x. i've tried doing it at 2x but it won't do that either.

The Movie is called 'Fall of the republic' and i know its not copyright protected because on the disc it says make copies and give them out for free. and also when i used Magic DVD Copier and burnt it to 2 4.7's it brought up the option to burn from 9 to 2 4.7's.

I'll try the other programs you all suggested. could it just be my DVD burner. it's probably about 4 years old. It burns 4.7's fine but won't burn 9's so could it be the DVD burner. it'll play DVD9's and everything. just won't burn them.

Thank you for the help i'll let you know if any of those other programs worked or if saving it to the harddrive worked either.
